Valenciso has been elaborating wines for the past 28 years in the 100-year-old winery located in the northwest limit of Rioja Alta DOC denomination, at Ollauri, Briones, Haro, Rodezno and Villalba, an area renowned for its winemaking traditions since the 19th century. The clay and limestone soil, together with the Atlantic climate with “The North Wind” (summery wind compensating the temperature, and cooling down the grapes to enhance the acidity, finesse, and complex aromas) allow the wines to achieve its best expression.
Valenciso winemakers adhere to the same school of thought as the great world wines of the world and continue to use concrete tanks, which have the advantages of making lively and long-lasting wines. They only use French oak barrels that give exceptional elegance, complexity, and longevity to the wine.
